I think no other actor could do it better than Tom Hanks. He plays the character of John Miller, a combat leader and put his team together for something which is not a part of their mission. In fact, he does not even lashes out but talks about his past which is actually moving.

Sean Austin did a great job with his acting which is pretty evident in form of this one of the great movie speeches. To inspire people to keep on moving and keep on searching for treasure to save his community is what this speech is all about.
